End Meeting For All

2021/ Installation and Text

︎ Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, Amman
Part of the exhibition “Remote Closeness”

“End Meeting For All" is a physical space for virtual conversations, a hybrid between an office space and an internet cafe. The main elements that make up this cyber room are office furniture, computer devices, and a high-speed internet connection. The seating arrangement is rather peripheral and faces outwards. No physical interaction is supposed to take place between the people in this room!

For us to enter the digital world, we must lose our physicality.

The focus of this work is directed on interactions through the screen with others elsewhere. Social media platforms, video calls, waiting rooms... means of communicating with whoever, whenever, and wherever, remote conversations that happen in real-time, yet in scattered locations.

The exhibition “Remote Closeness” is realized by the “Laboratory of the Future” team as part of Factory’s Public Art Program and supported by Goethe-Institut in Jordan and the Institut Français de Jordanie and funded by the Franco-German Cultural Fund.
